The exhibition "reloaded" shows works of visual artists
and conceptually working designers. The intention is to initiate
a multi-faceted examination with the subject, the auto, in which
accepted separations of art and design are suspended. A central
role in this is the relationship between individual and auto.
Marti Guixe, Bless as well as Valentina Seidel and Susan Pietzsch
dealt with the automobile as a social symbol: The car is regarded
as a “driving business card“, since it is just as
close to the driver as his clothes and it is just as much referring
to his personality. Another important aspect in this analysis
of the car as an object. Formal design of the car is analyzed
as it reflects the Zeitgeist, design-trends and styles. Maik and
Dirk Löbbert, Stefan Wischnewski and Bless transform existing
cars and by their artistic manipulations, they show an until now,
undiscovered potential, so that the everyday situation is transformed
into an unusual experience.
