An international workshop at the Mecklenburgisches Künstlerhaus Schloss Plüschow (DE), dedicated to the increasing “dematerialization” and focused on the concept of jewellery against this background under the following questions: ”How does the phenomenon of increasing “dematerialization“ reflect upon the concept of jewellery and our need for jewellery?“, “Can jewellery take on immaterial, ephemeral or virtual forms?“ or “How could the concept for jewellery be defined in a way at the beginning of the 3rd Millennium?“.
By removing the separation between design and art, jewellery research should bring about a new understanding, beyond the usual jewellery context.
The workshop was followed by an exhibition at the Mecklenburgisches Künstlerhaus Schloß Plüschow in Plüschow, which continued to tour to the Stadtgalerie Kiel in Kiel(DE). Developed in collaboration with art historian Anne Schloen (DE).
Included artists: Elke Nebel(DE), Hannes Gamper(AT), Suska Mackert(DE), Aya Tsukioka(JP), Yuka Oyama(DE), Okamoto Mitsuhiro (JP), Henrik Duncker(FN), Valentina Seidel(DE) and Susan Pietzsch(DE). Opening concert held by Seiji Morimoto(DE).
